iPad mini: which model to choose?

Now that the iPad mini is reality, many of you will surely be interested in purchasing. But what is the model to choose? 16, 32 or 64GB? Wi-Fi or LTE? In this paper we attempt to clarify your little 'ideas.

Colour: white or black

The choice of color is very important, because in the end the device will always be there, ready to be watched and used. In general, with minor differences, the white model is more pleasant to use while reading a book, while the black model gives the best view of the video. The rest is just a matter of taste, waiting to find out that the black anodized used by Apple nell'iPad mini is so prone to scratches like on the iPhone 5. In that case, at least initially, is preferable to purchase the white pattern or a beautiful housing.

Council: the white, given that scratches are less visible

Storage: How many GB do I need

IPad 16GB may be enough: Unlike the iPhone, there are few users who shoot many pictures or conduct video directly from the tablet, and this saves a lot of space. The film weigh less than 1GB each (unless you opt for Full HD on iTunes), but if you use iCloud much of the space will be spared in favor of the cloud, thanks to Photo Stream, documents on-the-cloud and possibly iTunes Match if you can not ever give up on your music. In general, the majority of people who use the iPad exploit it as a storage medium for files and documents and to read books. Things, these, who rarely exceed 16GB of space. However, if you use the iPad for video editing (iMovie), drawings and construction of photos and videos, then consider buying the 32GB model. The 64GB is really exaggerated, with rare exceptions.

Council: the 16GB, in most cases, is more than sufficient

LTE or LTE?

The iPad mini is compatible with ultra-fast LTE networks, which will arrive in Italy on a widespread only in a year or more. Logically, waiting for the device can be used in 3G, but remember that if you have an iPhone you can use it as a hotspot to surf the mobility on iPad: in this way you will save not only € 100 more than the model LTE, but also money for a new flat subscription to do with one of the three operators (the cheapest one is 3, with € 5 per month for 3GB of data traffic). However, if you plan to use the iPad 3G for several hours a day and do not want to worry about charging the battery of the iPhone (in Hotspot is consumed much ...), then the expense is almost obligatory.

Tip: with few exceptions, opt for the only Wi-Fi and use the iPhone Hotspot!

Flea Market

Oddly enough, the basic patterns remain higher their value in case you want to sell in the future. If you plan to use the iPad mini for one year, then the 16GB model is the one which best fits, since the losses will be lower. The LTE model will not make you gain a lot in case of future resale.

I need the iPad mini?

If you are still undecided sull'acquistare or not this device, much depends on whether you already have an iPad or not and, if so, what use do. If your family all use one iPad and have the opportunity to purchase another, then the iPad mini is the ideal choice for the price for the functions. If you have an iPad and you are right, it makes no sense to buy an iPad mini, unless you feel the need to use a lightweight device to carry in your pocket.

You have to buy the first iPad, however, the mini is a very interesting, but does not yet offer the Retina display, despite the high quality of the screen. Well you have to understand if you use a high-performance and iPad 4 Retina screen, but also by the greater weight and size, or a lightweight, small and new design.

Tip: spend less now means saving more in the long term
